General Job Description
The Head of Prefabrication and VDC (BIM) is responsible for the oversight and day to day operations related to Weifield s Prefabrication and VDC program. Also includes oversight of warehouse, yard, delivery services, equipment, tools, and fleet for Rocky Mountain Region. Help drive Prefabrication and VDC processes in all regions Weifield operates.

Job Specific Accountabilities:
Oversees all Prefabrication and VDC/BIM functions for Weifield
Direction of Prefabrication Team
Field Training- Fabrication Orders, Ordering
Collaborate companywide and externally with Field Management, VDC Team, Engineers, PM's and Estimating to establish prefabrication opportunities from project start.
Perform quality control on all material that leaves the prefabrication shop
Lead weekly Prefab Dept. meetings.
Develop your team by identifying training and career paths to reach their highest potential.
Training the field on what prefab materials are available, how to use the materials, and inspire Lean thinking.
Help develop communication with the field, best practices and developing presentation material for foreman meetings.
Monitor and collaborate with the field managers before and during prefab materials are installed, to ensure clarity of the installation and how to do it efficiently.
Responsible for master Prefab Department scheduling.
Design of Complex Builds
Order Processing
BIM Integration
Creation of Fabrication Forms
Personnel Reviews
5S Implementation

Qualifications/Skills Required
Thorough knowledge of electrical prefabrication, and construction processes including electrical codes such as the National Electrical Code
Self-motivated and can find solutions with minimal to no guidance
Management experience of a team of 8 to 10 employees
Experience in a prefabrication shop and office environment
Experience with wall rough in, panel boards, wireways and bending equipment
Able to proactively communicate needs to the appropriate parties to ensure department runs smoothly
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
A demonstrated track record of maintaining strict safety standards.
Able to meet tight deadlines and make decisions quickly with quality, safety, and integrity in mind.
Ability to estimate or in conjunction with the electrical estimator provide pricing to customers.
Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, Trimble, Revit
Possess excellent understanding of the electrical industry and tools.
The ability to think outside the box and come up with different time and cost saving ideas.
Motivated, detail oriented, and will not accept second best.
Possess strong interpersonal skills to work in a diverse, dynamic, and fast paced environment.
Capable of multi-tasking.
Candidate must be self-motivated and flexible to accommodate changes in Weifield s business strategies.
Must be willing to travel as needed to job sites and all regions.
Management and training experience required.
Journeyman s license/Masters 5 years plus
Preferred certifications: LEED AP, OSHA, NICET, NABCEP, ASHE
Computer skills word, excel, blue beam and Auto CAD a plus
Flexible, open minded and able to meet tight deadlines

Physical Demands
Ability to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach overhead.
Lifting 51 to 150 lbs. with help as required.
Carry tools and materials up to 100 lbs. up to 400 feet.
Candidate must be able to gain access to construction work areas via ladders and stairs safely.
Reasonable efforts will be made to accommodate the disabled.

Working Conditions

  • Job requires working in all types of weather, on your feet, 8 to 10 hours daily up to 6 days a week.
  • Work from all types of ladders, stepladders up to 14', "A" frame ladders and all size extension ladders.
  • Employee's personal weight with personal tools cannot exceed weight limit of ladder (Class 1 - 250 lbs., Class 1A - 300 lbs.).
  • Perform work at various heights, up to 50' from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks or other safe work areas.
  • Work in restricted areas, switchgear room, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, attics and vaults.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (hard hats, safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, masks, earplugs and respirators).
  • Follow special procedures including contamination control, noise control, building systems awareness and procedures.
  • Candidate must be able to work night shifts and mid shifts, as required by customers.
  • Respond to short notice overtime requirements.
  • Reasonable efforts will be made to accommodate the disabled.

Compensation Package
Start Date: TBD
Status: Full-time
Pay Rate: $120,000 to $185,000 Salary
Employee Health Insurance: Healthcare 100% of family medical "Base Plan" by WGC 1st of the month following date of hire.
Voluntary Dental/Vision Insurance: Paid by employee based on coverage selection 1st of the month following date of hire.
Disability & Accident Insurance: Paid by employee based on coverage selection 1st of the month following date of hire.
Life Insurance: 50K Life and ADD; Employer paid for employee 1st of the month following date of hire.
HSA Plan: Employer contributes up to $400 annually in quarterly contributions of $100. Individual can contribute to max of $3750 or $7200 for family.
401k/Safe Harbor: Participate after 60 days. Weifield matches 100% of investment up to 4% after one year of consistent employment.
Vehicle: Company vehicle or vehicle allowance of $875/month
Cell Phone: Company cell phone or cell phone allowance of $150/month
Background Check/ Drug Test Required: Yes
Work Schedule: 7AM- 5PM Monday through Friday.

Due to the nature of this position additional time may be needed to complete work activities with no additional compensation.

Current Drivers License Required: Yes
Journeyman Electrician License: Required
